Assess remaining issues concerning this underresourced and understaffed department of the city and identify legislative and budgetary solutions.
Undertake a review of snow removal, leaf, and bulk pickup policies as compared to neighboring municipalities. Introduce legislation as necessary to improve snow removal.
Ensure a five year capital plan is part of the budget process that will address street conditions and public works services generally.
Review plans for meeting sewer consent decree requirements and assess future impact on residents and any needed legislation or budgetary considerations.

Assess all city park and recreational resources and undertake effort to bring them back to full service. Explore regional partnerships (e.g. Metroparks) and work with the school board to improve spaces like Millikin Park.
